Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan on the decisions of Andhra Pradesh’s coalition government is becoming increasingly evident. In a recent visit to Kakinada Port, Pawan Kalyan took action against the illegal transportation of ration rice, raising serious concerns about the port’s security and the illicit movement of essential goods. He further cited his disappointment with officials who did not support him in his strive to curb the unlawful activity. The government acted quickly on this issue, stepping up action immediately.
Already, the government had issued orders to the CID to look into the illegal activities at Kakinada Port. But the government has now made another important decision and ordered a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to be formed to conduct a comprehensive inquiry into the matter. The Chief Secretary has given formal orders in this regard.
The SIT will primarily focus on 13 cases linked to the illegal transportation of ration rice, with a particular emphasis on the ongoing concerns about rice being exported from Kakinada Port without authorization. This move comes after numerous complaints from citizens and public representatives about the unlawful export of ration rice.
The SIT will comprise six senior police officers, including CID IG Vineeth Brijlal, CID SP Uma Maheshwar, and DSPs Ashok Vardhan, Balasundara Rao, Govindarao, and Rattayya. The team has been instructed to collaborate closely with various government departments to ensure a thorough investigation. They are expected to deliver their findings and a detailed report to the government within 15 days.
