Senior BRS leader and former finance minister got relief from the Telangana High Court against his arrest in the phone tapping case registered at the Panjagutta Police Station against him. It has clarified that further investigation can be undertaken except for the arrest. It has advised Harish Rao to cooperate with the investigation.
The High Court has issued notices to Congress leader Chakradhar Goud, who filed a case against him. While everyone speculating that BRS working president KTR may be booked in the phone tapping case, suddenly a new phone tapping case was registered against Harish Rao indicating he may be arrested.
Siddipet Congress in-charge Chakradhar Goud in his complaint alleged that his phone was tapped. In this context, Harish Rao filed a petition in the High Court seeking quashing of the FIR. It was stated in the petition that a wrong case was registered against him at the Panjagutta PS.
He said that the case was registered based on a complaint filed with political malice. He mentioned that Chakradhar had previously filed a case against Harish Rao alleging that his phone was tapped. He complained to the DGP on June 19 this year stating that he had received an email from Apple on August 29 last year that his phone was tapped.
Later, he approached the High Court, saying that the police were not paying attention. The Principal Secretary to the Home Department, the DGP and Harish Rao were named as respondents in the writ petition filed by him on July 16. After the court accepted the case for hearing, Chakradhar surprisingly withdrew his petition on November 22.
BRS leaders are questioning why Chakradhar, who filed a complaint with the Panjagutta police on the same issue, withdrew the writ petition if he had any doubts about Harish Rao? They are alleging that Harish Rao had a new case registered on Tuesday with the party after CM Revanth Reddy exposed his double standards on Monday along with video evidence.
Four cases have been registered against Harish after the Congress came to power. Harish Rao held a purification ceremony at the Yadagirigutta temple on August 22 after Revanth Reddy broke his promise to waive off farmers’ loans by August 15. As a result, a case was registered against him at the local police station.
The second case was registered at the Cyber Crime Police Station on October 4 this year. A person posted on social media about BJP MP Raghunandan Rao garlanding Minister Konda Surekha. BRS leaders say that a case was registered on the pretext that Harish’s photo appeared on the accuser’s social media.
The third case was registered on October 25 this year in Begum Bazar PS. A case was registered against Harish for calling CM Revanth Reddy ‘evading Revanth Reddy’ for evading promises. The fourth case was registered in Karimnagar on November 25. The case was registered on the grounds that he had criticized Revanth Reddy at an event.
