YS Sharmila, who is the President of Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee, APCC, has written a formal complaint to the Anti-Corruption Bureau, ACB, in respect of former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy accepting ₹1,750 crore bribe for a ₹7,000 crore solar power deal, which involves the Solar Corporation of India, SECI. She has produced evidence in this case to the ACB urging an investigation into the whole thing and appropriate action.
Sharmila says, “U.S. investigators revealed Jagan’s role in the alleged bribery. U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, also initiated legal action in this matter. She has alleged that Jagan had colluded with the Adani Group to manipulate the solar power deal and had siphoned personal benefits from this arrangement. Sharmila further raised questions on why the case was not brought to the public’s notice by local authorities when it is said to have taken place in 2021.
Sharmila further raised questions on why Finance Minister Payyavula Keshav had previously filed a petition in the High Court, warning of the financial burden the corruption might incur on the state. She further questioned why N. The TDP Chief Chandrababu Naidu was in complete knowledge about the alleged corruption from 2021 but he has not been taking any step in this matter. Sharmila expressed that Naidu maintained his silence since he is the political ally of NDA and close to Adani, under whose influence he might be giving more priority to these friendships than the problem of corruption itself.
