As the polling ended on Wednesday in both Maharashtra and Jharkhand assembly elections, most exit polls are predicting BJP-led parties are likely to get absolute majority in both these assemblies.
As polling ends in Maharashtra, exit polls reveal a gripping contest. Predictions vary widely, highlighting the uncertainty—Mahayuti estimates range from 125 to 195, and MVA from 69 to 150. Smaller parties could play a crucial role, with two to 25 seats up for grabs. With every vote crucial, voter sentiment will be pivotal. The majority of the pollsters agree that Mahayuti is poised for victory, while a couple project a hung house.
The ruling Mahayuti is poised to retain power in Maharashtra with the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) also putting up a strong show in the Assembly polls, most exit poll predicted on Wednesday after the conclusion of polling on 288 seats in the state.
According to Republic TV-PMARQ exit poll, the Mahayuti alliance could win 137-157 seats, whereas the Maha Vikas Aghadi could get 126-147 seats and others 2-8 seats.
Mahayuti includes BJP, Shiv Sena and NCP while the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi includes Congress, Shiv Sena (UBT) and NCP (SP).
ABP-Matrize exit poll projected 150-170 seats for the Mahayuti alliance and 110-130 seats for Maha Vikas Aghadi. It said others could get 8-10 seats.
News 24-Today’s Chanakya projected that Mahayuti will win 152-150 seats, MVA 130-138 seats and others 6-8 seats ‘Peoples Pulse’ projected Mahayuti scoring a decisive victory by getting 175-195 seats. It said Maha Vikas Aghadi is poised to get 85-112 seats and ‘others’ winning 7-12 seats.
As the second and the last phase of the Jharkhand Assembly elections ended today, the pollsters — Times Now-JVC, Matrize, Peoples Pulse, Axis My India, Chanakya Strategies, Dainik Bhaskar, P-Marq and Electoral Edge predict a close fight between JMM-led INDIA and NDA alliance in Jharkhand.
The focus is on the ruling JMM-led INDIA which is seeking to retain power, while the BJP-led NDA is hoping to oust the Soren government in the state. The second phase elections kicked off on Wednesday with 38 of the 81 seats going to polls. The first phase of polling took place in Jharkhand on November 13.
