Alleging that the Congress-JMM coalition wanted to divide OBCs by pitting sub-castes against each other, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday told an election rally in Jharkhand ‘ek rahoge toh safe rahoge’.
Addressing the rally in Bokaro, the PM said that if we remain together, we will remain safe. Congress-JMM alliance wants to break OBC unity by pitting sub-castes against each other, there are 125 OBC sub-castes in Chotanagpur region.
“I want to promise you (people), once the government is formed, to give these corrupt people the strictest punishment, we will take this fight to the court. Your money will be spent on you only,” he said.
PM Modi said, ” Their (JMM) leaders are earning crores of money through sand mining. From them, mountains of notes have been discovered…from where did these notes come? Isn’t this your money? Isn’t this the money looted from you?.”
Modi claimed that till there was no unity between OBCs, tribals and Dalits, the Congress kept forming governments at the Centre. “Beware of the Congress-JMM’s evil designs and conspiracies. They can go to any extent to snatch power. The Congress has been an opponent of SC, ST, and OBC unity since Independence. Till there was no unity, the Congress kept forming governments at the Centre and looted the nation,” he added.
“From 2004 to 2014, the Congress government was in power at the Centre, with Madam Sonia ji leading it. During that time, the Central government allocated just Rs. 80,000 crore to Jharkhand over 10 years”, he said.
“In 2014, you all gave Modi the opportunity to serve, and you will see the difference in service when I tell you how much we have given to Jharkhand in the past 10 years. We have allocated over Rs. 3 lakh crore to Jharkhand, which is four times more than what was given earlier. We gave more funds because Jharkhand was created by us, and it is our responsibility to nurture it,” said PM Modi.
Moreover, Modi said that a lot of funds from the Central government are sent directly to states without interference. Earlier, he recalled that there used to be corruption, and funds would get siphoned off. ”There are looters everywhere, so I made use of technology. I press a button in Delhi, and the funds reach your phone directly”, he added.
