YS Sharmila Demands Jagan’s Resignation

The property tussle between the YSRCP leader, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, and his sister, PCC Chief YS Sharmila, has been ongoing in Andhra Pradesh. After having a major argument, Sharmila has so far kept mum, and both of them have decided to go legal. Recently, Jagan has been more soft-spoken, but Sharmila’s latest issue has sparked public debate once again.

As the Andhra Pradesh Assembly’s budget session approaches, YSRCP MLAs, under Jagan’s leadership, have already announced their decision to skip the session. In a surprising turn, YS Sharmila has now openly targeted her brother, making a bold demand. She has called for Jagan to step down from his MLA position if he chooses not to attend the Assembly.

Sharmila’s comments have stirred significant controversy, as she emphasized that any MLA, including Jagan, should resign if they refuse to fulfill their duty of attending the Assembly sessions. “If they lack the courage to attend, why should they continue to hold their positions?” Sharmila questioned, highlighting the importance of accountability in office.

These remarks have taken the political conversation in Andhra Pradesh to a new level, as they come amid her ongoing criticisms of Jagan. There is now growing speculation that Sharmila might challenge her brother in the future in Pulivendula, should he decide to step down. Her latest statement has added fuel to the fire of sibling rivalry, sparking a renewed interest in Andhra Pradesh’s political landscape.
