Chandrababu says District will Be A Unit For SC classification

He said that comprehensive development will be possible by providing education, employment, skill development and business opportunities. The CM discussed the action with the MLAs as there was an election promise along with the Supreme Court verdict on classification.

The CM reminded that the classification was implemented when there was a united Andhra Pradesh, but later the program was stopped due to legal problems. The CM said that in the wake of the recent Supreme Court verdict, various states are ready to implement the classification.

The CM said that the Telugu Desam Party has been supporting the Dalits from the beginning. The CM reminded that social ills like untouchability were eradicated through the Justice Punnaiah Commission. He said that after 2014, funds were spent on Dalits in proportion to the population through GO No. 25.

The MLAs recalled the implementation of many programs including the Best Available Schools in 2014. The MLAs were of the opinion that not a single road has been laid in Dalit villages in the last 5 years and not a single toilet has been built. The CM said that special thoughts are being given on what should be done to sustain the Dalit community in the next 5 years and what policies should be implemented for their comprehensive development.
