Another new railway line in Andhra Pradesh has been cleared. A key step has been taken for the new railway line Machilipatnam-Repalle- Bapatla. The Railway Board has approved the FLS (Final Location Survey) for this new line, which is 45.81 km long. Orders have been issued.
The 45.30 km railway line from Machilipatnam to Repalle has been taken as one section. The 45.81 km line from Repalle to Bapatla has been taken as another section. To this extent, the Railway Board has issued separate orders for the preparation of the DPR after conducting a survey for the establishment of the new railway line.
Regarding the survey, the Railway Board has sanctioned Rs. 1.13 crore for the Machilipatnam- Repalle railway line and Rs. 1.15 crore for the Repalle- Bapatla line. In fact, the Railway Board had given orders for FLS in August regarding the 45.30 km new railway line to be undertaken between Machilipatnam-Repalle.
Recently, orders have been received to lay a new line from Repalle to Bapatla. Machilipatnam- Repalle railway line has always been a dream. There were also protests in the past for this railway line.Finally, their dream is going to come true with the green signal from the Railway Department.
If this railway line becomes available Machilipatnam-Repalle-Bapatla line will become an alternative route regardless of Vijayawada. This railway line is going to be crucial in the transport of goods to Machilipatnam port. It is said that since this line is directly connected to the Howrah- Chennai main railway line, the distance will also be reduced by 50 to 100 km.
In fact, this railway line was earlier planned to be only 45.30 km from Machilipatnam to Repalle. Machilipatnam MP Vallabhaneni Balashouri has also requested the Railway Minister on several occasions. However, if this line is extended to Bapatla, there will be benefits in terms of traffic to Machilipatnam Port, he met the Railway Minister and submitted reports.
With this, this railway line was extended to Bapatla. Orders were issued for a survey to extend the 45.81-kilometer line to Bapatla under another section. MP Balashouri said that this railway line from Machilipatnam to Repalle and from there to Bapatla is going to become crucial in transportation in the future.
He said that the traffic load on Vijayawada Railway Station will also be reduced. He said that the railway line will be available to lakhs of people in the areas around Diviseema. It is said that it will also be very useful for the development of Machilipatnam Port.
