Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu has taken another key decision regarding Visakhapatnam. He has instructed the officials to prepare proposals for the construction of an outer ring road connecting the coastal city to the towns of Vizianagaram, Nellimarla, Bhogapuram and Anakapalle.
The CM, who visited the city last week, made some suggestions to develop Visakhapatnam like Hyderabad. He made key comments in a review of Visakhapatnam, Anakapalle and Alluri Seetharamaraj districts.
Along with the outer ring road, he wants to give priority to the development of the tourism sector in Visakhapatnam. Chandrababu instructed the officials to design good projects so that tourists from anywhere in the city can stay here for a week.
He advised the officials to develop parks so that children can come and play in the city. He suggested that the drainage system in Visakhapatnam should be perfect. He also suggested that a liquid management system should be made available.
He also suggested that more branding and marketing should be done for Araku coffee, pepper and turmeric. The Chief Minister said that the city’s drinking water problems would be solved by bringing Godavari water to Visakhapatnam.
He said that 200 units of solar power should be generated in every house as part of the Suryagarh scheme brought by the Center. He said that Tata and GMR companies should be taken as mentors. He wanted to provide skill training so that the youth can get jobs.
He suggested that logistics development should be given priority. He said that the Bhogapuram airport would be completed in 2026 and all development projects should be made available by then.
He said that the problem of Simhachalam Pancha Grams has been pending for a long time and ordered to look for alternative lands for the temple. When the Anakapalle-Atchutapuram road was mentioned, opinions were expressed that a greenfield road could be laid from Paravada to APIIC SEZ via Kondakarla Ava. With this, Chandrababu gave the green signal to go ahead if it could be done under PPP.
When officials mentioned that there would be a lot of congestion near Anna canteens under the Visakhapatnam GVMC limits, they suggested that appropriate arrangements be made to reduce the congestion. Also, if potholes are seen on the roads anywhere in the city after Sankranti, they will not be silent or complain, and they warned that the concerned officer will be suspended.
