Accusing that it is a crime misusing the public money for the construction of Rishikonda Palace in Visakhapatnam, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu said that the criminal who committed this crime should be punished in the People’s Court. He alleged that the previous YCP rulers built Rishikonda Palace at a cost of Rs 500 crore in a way that would diminish democracy.
He inspected the buildings of Rushikonda on Saturday, along with Tourism Minister Kandula Durgesh, MP Bharat, MLAs Ganta Srinivasa Rao, Palla Srinivas and district officials with the intention of how to use them in the coming days. The buildings were inspected in detail for more than an hour.
Naidu described former chief minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy as the `Andhra Escobar’, an economic criminal who spent money like drinking water. He criticized Jagan for building luxurious palaces in the name of the poor. The Chief Minister said that people will be allowed to visit the palace, and then everyone’s opinions will be taken and Jagan’s violations will be revealed.
He revealed that he does not understand what the palaces are used for. He lamented that after making mistakes, the YCP chief counterattacking under the guise of politics. He said that it is surprising that such incidents happen in a democracy, and that it is heartbreaking for a person to build palaces for a luxurious life and for his own selfish interests.
He deplored that earlier though the media, environmentalists, sociologists, himself, Pawan Kalyan and BJP leaders tried to expose the facts of Rishikonda Palace, but it was not possible. He lamented that the former Chief Minister has destroyed the environment and built the palace for his luxury.
He said that even kings did not build palaces with public money. He accused that Rishikonda palaces were used as residences for the President and Prime Minister and as tourist destinations, thereby tarnishing their name. He expressed surprise that luxurious conference rooms built in Gajapati Block maynot be found even in the White House or the residence of the President of India.
