Water Resources Minister Nimmala Ramanaidu has strongly refuted former Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy’s allegations against Polavaram project revived by the present government and ridiculed him that Jagan should be given an Oscar award for lying. He advised them to stop spreading false propaganda on the Polavaram issue.
Mantra Nimmala said that Jagan, who cheated his mother and sister, has been betrayed. He said that he understood that Jagan does not deserve to be in public life, which is why he has opened the door to diversion politics.
He was angry that Jagan has been spreading lies about the Polavaram issue and spreading misinformation for the past two days in the media. He said that he had explained Jagan’s betrayal of the Polavaram project in full detail. However, he said that his mind has not changed.
The Minister accused the Jagan family of betraying the state’s water resources. He said that they resorted to `Dhana Yagnam’ in the name of `Jala Yagnam’. He expressed his anger that Jaganmohan Reddy had betrayed the interests of the state by writing to the Brijesh Kumar tribunal saying that he would not seek rights in the surplus waters of Krishna.
Nimmala said that the Polavaram reverse tendering has delayed project works for 15 months and the diaphragm wall was destroyed. He was angry that the Annamayya Dam was demolished by the sand mafia during Jagan’s tenure and 38 people lost their lives in the process.
Isn’t it Jagan’s fault that the gates of the Pulichintala and Gundlakamma projects were washed away?, he asked. He criticized that the Rs. 3,800 crore given by the center to Polavaram was diverted and the river connection was blocked. He questioned whether Jagan had divided Polavaram into two phases to reduce its height?
Did Jagan not seek permission from the center to reduce it to 41.15 meters?, he asked. He said that the NDA government will increase the height of Polavaram to 45.72 meters and make Andhra Pradesh fertile through river interlinking. Minister Nimmala advised them to stop lying and settle their family disputes.
