Kapil Dev Discussed with CM Chandrababu on setting Up A Golf Court In AP

Former cricketer Kapil Dev discussed setting up a golf court in Andhra Pradesh with Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu. Former Indian cricket team captain Kapil Dev along with Andhra Cricket Association President and Vijayawada MP Keshineni Chinni met cM Chandrababu at the latter’s residence in Undavalli.

 Kapil Dev, who is presently President of the Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI), mentioned that CM Chandrababu is also very interested in sports. He said that he discussed with the chief minister on where the government can allot land for them to set up a Golf Club and also pointed out he will be happy if it is given in the Sports City.

Chief Minister Chandrababu revealed on social media X that the meeting with legendary cricketer Kapil Dev was very pleasant. He said that special focus has been placed on setting up an international golf course club in Amaravati, premier golf course clubs in Anantapur and Vizag.

Also, he said it was discussed about expanding the sports field of Andhra Pradesh. He clarified that this will increase the passion for golf among our youth and encourage the next generation of golfers. He announced that the Andhra Pradesh government is ready to provide more such opportunities and facilities to our citizens across the state.

Chandrababu said that they are looking forward to the cooperation of sports giants to make Andhra Pradesh a true hub of sports excellence. Andhra Cricket Association president Keshineni Chinni said that golf courts will be set up in Anantapur, Amaravati and Visakha.

MP Chinni said that Kapil Dev has been asked to be the ambassador of the state. They are thinking of developing golf in AP. He said that driving ranges will be prepared for golf and more things will be decided in the next two or three meetings.

He expressed hope that they can support young players in AP to take part in international sports events and  the cricket players from small and rural areas will be brought out. He also revealed that cricket will be developed in rural areas also.
