Telangana political scene is now turning into a battleground because the fight between Congress and Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) is getting more vigorous. Recent comments from former minister Harish Rao, targeting Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, have sparked significant debate and raised eyebrows among the public.
Harish Rao has strongly criticized the Congress party, which has “slumped by leaps and bounds” in 11 months. He said that the party couldn’t deliver the promises made to diverse communities, leaving the electorate frustrated. Rao said that protests are breaking out in the whole state. He asked why the government has not opened discussions with the protesters to solve their grievance. He alleged that the Chief Minister is speaking nothing but empty words without taking any decisive step to deal with burning issues.
Rao slammed the non-implementation of promises while targeting the government for missing its electoral commitments as “he wondered why there was least focus on the campaign-promises”. He alleged Reddy could not even act on new assurances and added that many vital welfare initiatives of KCR for the poor were sidelined. For example, on the promise of two sarees for the Bathukamma festival, he alleged that not a single saree has been distributed yet. He further claimed that it is also a false statement to say that the Rythu Bandhu scheme will take care of three crops in a year because at the moment, no one will get support for a crop.
They are promising ₹15,000 but cannot give the existing ₹10,000 to farmers. The administration is not even responsive when farmers are compelled to take to the streets to express their grievances,” Rao said, expressing his frustration.
With this political scenario, the Congress party and the BRS will face increasing pressure to redress public grievances and fulfill commitments. The coming weeks will prove decisive in determining the future political landscape in Telangana.
