TDP, YCP Leaders Grabbed Most of Liquor shops In Lottery

In the lottery conducted by district collectors on Monday for allocation of liquor shops in Andhra Pradesh, most of the shops are said to be grabbed by both TDP and YCP leaders or their followers. MLAs, former MLAs and other key political leaders played key roles in filing applications for liquor shops.

Interestingly, Anantapur district BJP president Sandireddy Srinivasa Rao got 5 shops at once. He is said to be a close associate of minister Satya Kumar. He got 5 liquor shops in Dharmavaram, Bathalapalli and Mudigubba under Dharmavaram constituency.

Municipal Administration Minister Dr P. Narayana seems to be unlucky in this issue. He has made 100 applications for liquor shops in Nellore district with his own money of Rs 2 crore for the party’s key leaders and activists, who worked for his victory in the previous election. But they only got three shops. It is remarkable that the licenses were handed over to the party leaders and workers so that a total of 15 people can manage each shop.

In Madakasira constituency, four shops were given to Venkata Subba Reddy and Vyjayanthimala, the couple are main followers of former MLA Tippeswamy. Four liquor shops in Kamalapuram constituency of Kadapa district have come to the representatives of the owners of a channel. The reporter of that channel participated in the lottery process.

It seems that the family members of Narasannapet MLA Baggu Ramana Murthy got 5 shops. Out of 158 liquor shops in Srikakulam district, most of the shops belonged to TDP and YSRCP. Out of 20 shops under Chirala constituency of Bapatla district, 9 shops went to sympathizers including YSRCP councillor of the opposition party.

It seems that women belonging to TDP got 14 shops in Anantapur district. Out of 20 liquor shops in Tadipatri, more than 10 were won by former MLA JC Prabhakar Reddy’s followers in the lottery. While there are 30 shops in Anantapur Urban, 15 of them belong to the followers of local MLA Daggupathi Venkateswara Prasad.

Moreover, Sannapureddy Sujala, daughter of the late Nandyala’s former MP and prominent industrialist SPY Reddy, got lucky. She has got liquor shops in different districts. There is one in Kurnool, six in Annamayya district, four in Anantapur district, and Peeleru constituency also has shops.
