Director Prasanth Varma, who achieved pan-Indian recognition with the blockbuster success of his film ‘HanuMan’, is expanding his cinematic universe. After revealing a project with Nandamuri Mokshagnya Teja, the director delighted fans once again by revealing the third phase of the PVCU series.
Unlike the first two films in Prasanth Varma’s cinematic universe, this installment introduces a female superhero, making it the first film revolving around a female superhero.
On this Navratri special, Prasanth shared the title announcement video on his social media by unleashing the most ferocious superhero in the universe, introducing that she is calm and the chaos, silence and the roar, creation and the destruction… “Mahakali.”
The film ‘Mahakali’ set in the culturally rich region of Bengal, known for its deep reverence of Goddess Kali, promises to portray its cultural heritage and its ancient traditions. With stunning visuals and a powerful narrative, the title announcement glimpse features a girl resting her head against a tiger, with a backdrop of people panicking due to a ferris wheel set on a fire. The title, Mahakali, was designed in Bengali font to reinforce the film’s deep connection to the region.
The mesmerizing background score, composed by Smaran Sai, took everyone into Prasanth Varma’s captivating cinematic universe. Written by Prasanth Varma, this female-centric film will be helmed by female director Puja Kolluru.
