Story:
SI Bhavabhooti (Sree Vishnu), a staunch male chauvinist, discovers an opportunity to claim the treasure of the Swaganika Clan. However, he is shocked by the arrival of Anubhuthi (Daksha Nagarkar), a fierce advocate for women’s rights. As they confront each other, the guardians of the Swaganika Clan find themselves further entangled in confusion with the appearances of Yayati (Sree Vishnu) and Vibhuthi (Sree Vishnu). Sree Vishnu gives a remarkable performance, captivating audiences with his adept portrayal of four different characters. He transitions effortlessly between roles, each defined by unique mannerisms, body language, and style of delivery, showcasing his incredible range in both expressions and emotions.
Ritu Varma’s striking introduction sadly diminishes as the narrative unfolds. Daksha Nagarkar impresses with her portrayal of a strong-willed modern woman, while Meera Jasmine delivers a steady performance. Saranya Pradeep effectively fulfills her role. The supporting cast, including Ravi Babu, Sunil, and Goparaju Ramana, enhances the ensemble with their contributions.
Swag features an intriguing concept crafted by Hasith Goli, seeking to provide both humor and a meaningful message. Sree Vishnu’s captivating performance maintains viewer interest in the first half, even with its sluggish pace, paving the way for a gripping twist at the interval.
The second half takes a more serious direction, showcasing emotional moments that may surprise viewers who were expecting a lighter experience from Sree Vishnu. While his acting remains exceptional, the intense emotions, along with a tangled screenplay, sluggish pacing, and repetitive scenes, ultimately diminish the film’s overall enjoyment.
Hasith Goli’s direction is proficient, but Vivek Sagar’s music doesn’t make a significant impression. While the songs are lacking in appeal, the background score proves to be effective. The production values are commendable, enhancing the overall quality of the film.
In summary, Swag is hindered by a flawed screenplay and a shift in tone that may disappoint certain viewers. While Sree Vishnu delivers an exceptional performance and the film initially presents a compelling concept, the execution ultimately does not meet expectations.
