High-Command serious over Konda Surekha, Priyanka Gandhi called Amala

Minister Konda Surekha’s recent comments on Akkineni Naga Chaitanya- Samantha’s divorce two years back, seem to have fueled the Congress high-command, which is already angry that the Revanth Reddy government is getting a bad name by demolishing the houses of the poor. It is learned that it has expressed concern that a person holding the position of a responsible minister could speak so lowly that the reputation of the party would be damaged.

Meanwhile, Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi swing into action as a damage control measure and called Amala, the wife of film hero Akkineni Nagarjuna, who was shocked by the comments made by Minister Konda Surekha. It is learned that Amala expressed deep grief on this occasion that the person holding the position of the responsible minister has burnt the honor of her family. It is known that Priyanka Gandhi expressed her regret for the incident and assured to take appropriate action.

It is on the directions of the Congress high-command, PCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud reprimand Konda Surekha for her comments and on his advice only she publicly apologized to Akkineni family and Samantha for her unwarranted comments.

According to information from the party sources, one of the party top leaders has recently expressed his anger over the developments taking place in the state asking ‘what is going on’?. It is learned that Mahesh Kumar Goud has assured the party high-command that he will rectify the situation himself before this issue gets out of hand.

Meanwhile, it has been learned that a former Union Minister has brought to the attention of the high-command the comments made by Minister Konda Surekha on the family of late Akkineni Nageswar Rao. It is reported that the party will take this matter seriously and promised to take appropriate action after talking to the PCC president.

PCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud warned in a statement that neither the ministers nor the party leaders should keep their mouths shut. To this extent, he released a video statement on Thursday addressing the party leaders. He stated that if anyone crosses the party’s disciplinary line, the consequences will be severe.

Meanwhile, with Minister Konda Surekha retracting her comments, State Women’s Commission Chairperson Neralla Sharada made it clear that they are not taking this matter as suo moto. She made this statement in response to the demand received from the opposition BRS parties and women’s groups to take suo moto action on the minister’s comments.
