Congress circles wandered over an alleged meeting between State Revenue Minister Pongueti Srinivas Reddy and No. 1 businessmen in the country Gautam Adani at a five-star hotel in the Hyderabad city on Wednesday evening.
It may be recalled that Adani is said to be a close associate of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Congress leaders, particularly Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi who always accuses central governments policies facilitating him easy money. Interestingly, this meeting was held just two days after ED slapped raids on Srinivas Reddy and his daughter’s houses, besides many other locations for two days.
Neither of them revealed any details of their meeting. Congress circles are questioning whether it is a personnel business meeting or something related to the government? The meeting went on for an hour.
It has been reliably learned that along with these two, Sunil Kanugolu, who is a social media consultant for the Congress party, was also present. Earlier, there was a big uproar for Revanth Reddy meeting Adani in Davos and offering him some investment opportunities. But, due to some criticism within the party later nothing happened officially.
Earlier, the government announced that the state government is going to enter into an agreement with Adani companies. However, due to criticism, the details of the agreement were not disclosed. However, it is being spread that their meeting was held on the issue of the largest piece of land in the suburbs of the city.
It is said that the Adani company is buying back a company belonging to Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy’s family and this meeting was held to finalize the deal. In return, Ponguleti allegedly offered several important projects in the state to the Adani group.
Key discussions were allegedly held regarding Singareni coal mines, power purchase agreements, power projects etc. It is said that the government is also trying to tie a huge project to Adani.
