Process of 6100 Constable posts Recruitment started, Says Home Minister Anita

Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha announced that the process of filling up of 6100 constable posts in AP has started. PMT and PET exams will be completed in five months. She said that the process of filling constable posts has been postponed due to various reasons.

The complete details for the second stage application registration will be included in the police recruitment website slprb.ap.gov.in. Also, Home Minister Anita announced that the main examination will be conducted in the third phase for those who have passed the second phase.

The constable job recruitment process is being postponed for a year and a half.  Earlier, due to the MLC election, the appointment process was postponed. Anita said that the physical fitness tests for the filling of 6,100 constable posts, which have been stalled due to various reasons, will be completed within the next five months.

During the previous government, 6100 posts were notified. It has been announced that 3580 posts of Civil Constable and 2520 posts of APSP Constable will be filled. 4,59,182 appeared for the preliminary exam in 2022. Out of which 95,209 were selected for the next stage.

A total of 3,622 Home Guards appeared for the Constable Preliminary Exam. Home Minister Anita said that only 382 home guards have qualified. However, 100 home guards who did not qualify in the preliminary examination filed 14 writ petitions in the High Court.

The court was asked to consider home guards as a special category and declare a merit list. But the court has issued an interim order to allow those hundred home guards to proceed to the next stage, he said. She said that the recruitment process has stopped because the previous government did not take any decision on this.

The Home Minister said that the coalition government will take legal advice on the constable appointment process and take it forward. To this extent, it has been decided to continue the physical ability tests conducted in the second phase. The final exam will be conducted in the third stage for those who qualified in the second stage.
