Mega Prince Varun Tej is placing all his expectations on his upcoming action drama ‘Matka’, after a series of flops. Helmed by Karuna Kumar, the film features Meenakshi Chaudhary as the female lead and boasts a strong supporting cast, including Naveen Chandra, Nora Fatehi, Kishore, Ravindra Vijay, Ajay Ghosh, and others in significant roles.
Matka is set for a first pan-Indian release for Varun Tej and is currently in its last leg of shooting. As the film enters the post-production stage, the film team announced the release date today.
Sharing the exciting news on their social media handles, the filmmakers posted a vibrant retro-styled picture featuring Varun Tej, who looks effortlessly stylish and dapper in his vintage attire. Announcing the film’s release date as November 14, 2024, they captioned, “From the streets of Vizag to the corridors of power. Mega Prince @varunkonidela7 stepping in to change the game with #MATKA. GRAND RELEASE IN THEATERS ON NOVEMBER 14th, 2024. #MATKAonNOV14th.”
This ambitious project will compete with Suriya’s most anticipated project, ‘Kanguva’, which is also scheduled for release on the same day.
Touted to be a periodic action drama, Matka is based on the real-life story and is speculated to be a biopic of famous Matka gambler Ratan Khatri, known as “Matka king” in the gambling world. The major part of filming has taken place in Vizag and Kakinada.
