USA BO: Devara Achieves Break Even In Just 4 Days

NTR starrer Devara, which secured mediocre reviews and underwhelming word of mouth, put on a strong show at the USA box office in the first weekend and exceeded the trade expectations with a good hold on the first Monday. The film has now surpassed the $ 5 Million mark and achieved the break even mark in just four days. The total gross now stands at $ 5.1 Million including all languages from USA and Canada territories.

After taking a fantastic start with a total of $ 3.7 Million on the first day with a sensational $ 2.8 MillIon gross from Thursday premieres, Devara saw a sudden dip in the collections on the next two days of the crucial weekend. However, it managed to have a decent haul with $ 769K from Saturday and $ 420K from Sunday. On Monday, the film notched up another $ 150K which is a very impressive number for the first weekday. Devara is now the fifth highest grossing Telugu film after Baahubali 2, Kalki, RRR and Salaar. It will shortly edge past Hanuman and take the fifth spot.

Devara has emerged as the highest grossing film in Koratala Siva’s career and also the second biggest hit for NTR after RRR. The film initially showed signs of touching the $ 8 Million mark due to the strong advance sales. However, the word of mouth seems to have impacted the collections.

Surprisingly, the Hindi version contributed well with close to $ 350K gross in four days. In the domestic circuit also, Devara had a strong weekend haul in North India with more than 25 Crores net from Hindi version.
