Chandrababu Criticizes Reverse Tenders for Tirumala Laddu, Calls for Strict Adherence to Traditions

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has expressed strong disapproval over the use of reverse tenders in the preparation of the sacred Tirumala Laddu, a key offering at the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD). Speaking to the media, Chandrababu questioned how YV Subba Reddy, former TTD Chairman, could be endorsed by Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy, raising concerns over the sanctity of the temple’s operations. He emphasized the importance of respecting customs and traditions, warning against any actions that might undermine them.

Chandrababu also highlighted his government’s swift action to improve TTD operations upon assuming office, instructing the new Executive Officer (EO) to prioritize quality and transparency. He noted that steps were taken to enhance the quality of the Laddu by blacklisting certain companies and sourcing ghee from Nandini to maintain high standards. Chandrababu praised TTD EO Shyamala Rao for executing reforms efficiently and without fanfare. The Chief Minister added that consultations with religious scholars and leaders, including Jeeyars and Kanchi Peethadhipathi, are underway to determine future steps for temple management, with a focus on conducting quality checks and consecration ceremonies across all temples in the state.
