Ram Madhav slams Ex-Militants openly campaigning For NC, PDP, Candidates In J&K

BJP senior leader and Jammu and Kashmir Election’s Incharge, Ram Madhav alleged that the National Conference (NC) and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) of taking support from ex-militants for the assembly polls in Jammu and Kashmir. He warned that the two parties want to take the Union territory back to its “trouble-filled days”.

Referring to the Abdullahs and Muftis, Madhav, he said the two families need to be shown the door. He cautioned that people of Jammu and Kashmir have witnessed enough uncertain situations in the past, and BJP believes that families responsible for violence, bloodshed and uncertainty must be vacated from the political landscape of Jammu & Kashmir.

He asserted that BJP will be the single largest party who will emerge victorious in the upcoming Assembly elections in J&K. He is confident of BJP forming the first government in the history of Jammu and Kashmir by winning 45 seats in the 90-member Assembly. According to him, the party will win 35 seats in Jammu and 10 seats in Kashmir.

If the party is unable to win an absolute majority, he said they will consider seeking support from small groups.

“We want to remember people of J&K that the manifesto of NC, PDP and others explains the revival of uncertainty in Jammu & Kashmir, and such parties are getting open support of ex-militants,” he said.

“Today ex-militants are campaigning for NC, PDP, Congress and others. The people of J&K need to defeat their designs, and give a chance to new government formation in the region,” Madhav told reporters.

He said in democracy there is a space for everyone and we welcome if anyone comes forward and takes part in the electoral process, but at the same time we won’t endorse those using backing of militants in elections.

Without naming Jamaat-e-Islami, the BJP senior leader said “They too came forward and are fighting elections. They have admitted this fact that elections that took place in J&K in the recent past were free and fair”.

Ram Madhav said that Union Home Minister Amit Shah is visiting the state on September 6 and 7 and he will release BJP’s election manifesto. Later, he said Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other party leaders will participate in BJP’s election campaign.
