After huge criticism, YS Jagan donates party fund to floods

YSR Congress party president and former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has been under intense criticism for his mindless remarks on floods in Vijayawada. During his visit to the affected areas yesterday, Jagan shockingly remarked that these floods are man-made due to the inefficiency of the ruling government led by Chandrababu Naidu. These senseless allegations turned out to be counterproductive as there has been widespread outrage on the Pulivendula MLA.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu also came down heavily on Jagan for his baseless comments without having basic knowledge. Naidu said Jagan came hurriedly from Bengaluru and made some statements to mudsling on the government with an intention to gain political mileage and left even without handing over a single packet of food to the needy people who were struck in floods. Also, many have attacked Jagan that he never announced any personal donation in his political career.

To avoid more backlash, Jagan finally took a call during the party meeting today to donate one crore to the victims who are affected by the unprecedented floods in Vijayawada. However, he didn’t announce how this amount will be handed over to the victims. There is no clarity yet on whether the party will donate to the CM relief fund or other means.

Surprisingly, Jagan didn’t announce any personal donation but decided to contribute from his party fund. This is likely to trigger more backlash from his opponents.
