BRS MLA Harish Rao strongly criticized Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, questioning who should resign after it was revealed that the Congress’s loan waiver promise was a blatant lie. Harish Rao stated, “I will go to the gods before whom Revanth Reddy swore and broke his word, and I pray that his wrongdoings do not harm the people of Telangana.”
During a visit to Khammam, Revanth Reddy claimed that Harish Rao should resign if the loan waiver promise had been fulfilled, to which Harish Rao responded on X, accusing Revanth Reddy of not behaving in a manner befitting a Chief Minister. Harish Rao further criticized Revanth Reddy, stating that no Chief Minister in the history of united Andhra Pradesh or Telangana had ever stooped so low, and likened his actions to those that would cause even lies to be ashamed.
Harish Rao condemned Revanth Reddy for breaking promises despite swearing on gods and for attacking the BRS government. He pointed out that the Chief Minister had promised to waive Rs. 40,000 crore in farmer loans by December 9 as a birthday gift to Sonia Gandhi before the Assembly elections, but has since failed to fulfill this promise. He also reminded that under the BRS government, in the first phase alone, loans for 3.5 million farmers amounting to nearly Rs. 17,000 crore had been waived, contrasting it with the Congress’s waiver promise, which he claimed is a blatant lie.
