AP cabinet bill facilitating to contest in local bodies even with more than two children

The Andhra Pradesh cabinet has decided to remove the rule of ineligibility for contesting in local bodies and cooperative societies,f a person having more than two children. The state cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday approved the bill brought to this effect.

This bill will be introduced in the next assembly session. This bill was moved in accordance with the promise given by alliance leaders during recent  elections. The cabinet also discussed the allegations of irregularities in the excise department during the YCP government and compared excise policies observed during   2014-19 and 2019-24 governments.

The cabinet has given approval to remove the photo and name of former CM YS Jaganmohan Reddy from the land survey stones. It has decided to take back the patta books with pictures of Jagan. In place of these, new pass books with government logo seals will be provided.

The Cabinet has decided to implement the new liquor policy in the state from October 1 and suggested changes in excise procurement policy. The Chief Minister advised that the policy should not be aimed at improving the government’s revenue, but should reform from all the existing irregularities adopted by the previous regime.

It has decided to supply quality liquor at affordable prices for the common people. It observed the excise policy followed by YS Jagan’s regime resulted in bringing a loss of Rs 18,860 crore to the state. The cabinet extended the ban on Maoists for another year.

The cabinet canceled GO Nos 217 and 144 of the Animal Husbandry Department and Fisheries Department so as to cancel the public auction in the reservoir and ponds and give opportunity to the local fishermen. It has been decided to increase the number of MBBS seats in new medical colleges of the state in phases. In the first phase 380 additional seats will be provided in Vizianagaram, Eluru, Rajamahendravaram, Machilipatnam and Nandyal medical colleges.
