Filmfare Awards : Dasara And Balagam shine, Nani Triumphs Again

Filmfare Awards are announced annually to recognise the best artists in various categories for their contributions to films. The 69th ceremony of ‘Filmfare Awards South’ was held on Saturday in Hyderabad and the winners for all film industries in South were announced on this occasion. 

Natural Star Nani’s blockbuster rural drama Dasara dominated the Tollywood list with as many as 6 awards. While Nani himself triumphed with the Best Actor award for his stupendous performance, his co-star Keerthi Suresh bagged the Best Actress award for her mesmerizing act in the rustic entertainer. 

Srikanth Odela won the best debut director award along with Nani’s Hi Nanna director Shouryuv who is also a debutant. Dasara cinematographer Satyan Sooryan and choreographer Prem Rakshit ( Doom Dhaam song) also won awards for their works.

Another rural entertainer Balagam which received rave reviews won the Best Film award and its helmer Venu clinched the Best Director award. Happening sensation Vaishnavi Chaitanya snatched the Best Actress (Crtics) award for her emotional performance in Baby.

Naveen Polishetty, who charmed audiences with his performances in Miss Shetty Mr. Shetty, shared  the Best Actor (Critics) along with Prakash Raj for his commenadable act in Ranga Marthanda. Ravi Teja and Brahmanandam won Best Supporting Actor awards for their acting in Waltair Verrayya and Ranga Marthanda respectively.
