Chandrababu Naidu Schedules Srisailam Visit Amid Rising Water Levels

The Krishna River is experiencing severe flooding at Srisailam due to heavy rains in Karnataka, causing the water level in the Srisailam dam to rise rapidly. In response, authorities have lifted two additional gates, making a total of five gates currently releasing water downstream.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu is scheduled to visit the Srisailam project on August 1 to perform the Jalaharati ritual for Krishnamma. This announcement was made by the Telugu Desam Party via social media.

The heavy rains in the Krishna catchment areas have also impacted the Almatti and Narayanpur reservoirs in Karnataka, which are now facing water logging. With these reservoirs reaching their maximum capacity, water is being released downstream, leading to a significant inflow into the Srisailam project.
