Having set a national record of winning all seats it contested in recent general elections, Jana Sena has reached a new height in its membership campaign crossing the 10 lakh mark. The party started its membership campaign on July 18. Although the due date for membership was over, it has extended for another week, till August 5 in view of demand from various districts.
Party’s Political Affairs Committee Chairman Nadendla Manohar said they have targeted to have atleast 5,000 members in each assembly constituency. He conducted a teleconference with party leaders along with state general secretary K. Nagababu and MLC Hari Prasad.
K. Nagababu said that the membership has doubled compared to last year. Party Treasurer AV Ratnam and IT Cell Chairman Miriyala Srinivas also participated in the teleconference.
Naga Babu said that they have extended time for membership after holding a teleconference with the leaders of the party, so as to reach their target of having 5,000 active members in each assembly constituency. He said that along with 175 constituencies in AP, membership is going on very enthusiastically in Telangana also.
He expressed happiness that people are coming voluntarily to join the party in both the Telugu states. However, he said it faced some setbacks due to severe rains during this period, so the due date was extended.
