Revanth Reddy Ready For A Dharna At Delhi Along with KCR!

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy challenged that if the Leader of Opposition K Chandrasekhar Rao comes forward, he is ready to jointly held a joint dharna at Jantar Mantar, New Delhi protesting against Center’s negligence towards Telangana.

Tempers ran high in the Assembly after BRS members demanded the State government to stage an indefinite strike at Jantar Mantar against the Centre’s discrimination towards Telangana. Heeding to the BRS demand, the Chief Minister demanded that Leader of Opposition KCR should join the dharna.

Moreover, he advised let BRS leaders may decide the date to hold Dharna in Delhi and appealed to KCR to come forward for getting funds for the state.

Moreover, ridiculing KCR claims of sacrifices for achieving Telangana state, Chief Minister said that “we have never repeatedly said that we brought Telangana with our head in the mouth of death. We also never said of buying petrol with Rs 100, but forget to buy match box”.

During the debate in the assembly on the injustice to the state in the central budget, a heated argument took place between the ruling and opposition leaders. The meeting heated up with mutual criticism.

After nearly five hours of heated arguments between the ruling and opposition members over securing funds from the Centre, the State Assembly on Wednesday passed a resolution appealing to the Centre to render justice to Telangana by amending the budget proposals in the ongoing budget debates.

The BRS MLAs extended support to the resolution introduced by the Chief Minister. However, the BJP MLAs demanded that the resolution be withdrawn stating that the State government was trying to mislead the people despite the Centre allotting funds under different programmes. The BJP members staged a walkout from the House.

Coming down heavily on the Centre on its discrimination towards Revanth Reddy appealed to all the members to set aside their political interests and strive for the State’s interests. He also said the future action plan would be discussed with all members.

Stating that the unfulfilled promises made in Andhra Pradesh Reorganization Act had a negative impact on Telangana’s development, the Chief Minister said several appeals were made to the Prime Minister and union ministers to allocate funds to Telangana. Yet, the union government neglected the State government’s pleas.
