BRS Leaders File Complaint with Assembly Speaker on Protocol Violations and Defections

Hyderabad: A group of BRS leaders has lodged a complaint with Assembly Speaker Gaddam Prasad regarding protocol violations and defections in their constituencies. Following the meeting, KTR addressed the media at the assembly’s media point and alleged that another party had lured away 10 MLAs and six MLCs who were elected on behalf of the BRS.

KTR emphasized that they brought the Supreme Court’s earlier verdict on defections to the Speaker’s attention. He stated that the Supreme Court mandated taking action within three months on complaints of defections and noted that he read out the verdict to the Assembly Speaker.

KTR also highlighted that during the Telangana assembly elections, the Congress party released a manifesto called ‘Nyay Patra,’ which explicitly stated that defecting MLAs would be disqualified. He pointed out inconsistencies in Congress’s stance on defections, citing examples from Haryana and Karnataka.

“We have requested the Speaker to immediately cancel the memberships of the MLAs who have switched sides, keeping all these factors in mind,” KTR concluded.
