CRDA Says YCP Office Demolition With Court Orders Only

CRDA officials have strongly refuted YCP leaders’ accusation that their under-construction central office near Tadepalli was demolished on Saturday early morning illegally and violating High Court orders. They asserted that the illegal construction of the YSRCP office was demolished as per the orders of the HIgh Court only.

Moreover, they said that the decision was taken realizing that if the demolition of the illegal structures is not taken up it would amount to contempt of court.

Meanwhile, Government sources have revealed that notices against illegal construction were issued when YS Jaganmohan Reddy was still Chief Minister. They released the letter given by Irrigation Engineer in Chief Narayana Reddy stating that the water resources department cannot give the land for the construction of YSRCP office.

On the other hand, the Commissioner of Mangalagiri Corporation issued a notice on May 20 directing for immediate removal of the illegal construction of that party’s office. The commissioner stated in the notice given on May 20 that the construction was done without any permissions.

Though Jaganmohan Reddy was Chief Minister on that day, the YSRCP leaders continued construction of the building without obtaining any official clearance indicating how arrogant they were. Finally the irrigation authorities also refused to give permission.

Court also ordered to act according to law. Officials say that the construction without permits is invalid according to law, and hence they have demolished it. CRDA, MTMC and Revenue officials have demolished the office building of YSRCP, which was constructed without permits in Sitanagaram of Guntur district.

This 2 acres of land was allocated by the government for the construction of the party office during the YSRCP regime. YSRCP has bagged a plot next to Buckingham Main Canal at a low price. The market price of an acre in this area is Rs 5 crore to Rs 8 crore. But on February 16 last year, the YSRCP government released the GO by leasing it for 33 years at a rate of only 1,000 per acre per year.

Meanwhile, enquiries are revealing that almost all YSRCP office buildings taken up in each district head quarter were obtained illegally, violating norms.
