A day after the transfer of several senior IAS officers, the AP government transferred three senior IPS officers, who were known for their proximity with former chief minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy and exhibited enthusiasm in harassing TDP leaders.
They were accused of acting unilaterally in key positions and mostly concentrated to carry out the political agenda of the ruling party so as to suppress opposition leaders. Former DGP Rajendranath Reddy has been appointed as Printing and Stationery Commissioner.
Fire Services DG Sunil Kumar has been ordered to report to GAD. Shankabatra Bagchi has been given additional responsibilities by the Fire Services. Rishanth Reddy, who is the SP of the Counter Intelligence Cell, has been ordered to report to the DGP office.
During Rajendranath Reddy’s tenure as DGP, no appointment was given to TDP leaders even once. Even he did not respond to the telephone call of the then Leader of Opposition Chandrababu Naidu. During elections, he was removed from the duties of DGP by the Election Commission. However, he has continued heading Vigilance and Enforcement.
PV Sunil Kumar heading AP CID during Jaganmohan Reddy’s regime he became notorious in filing illegal cases against TDP leaders and using third degree torture against TDP leaders. Above all the excesses he was kown in the CID, the worst of all was arrest and third-degree torture against the then ruling party MP Raghuramakrishnam Raju.
It is noteworthy that it was Rishant Redde who registered a casual case when YCP leaders pelted stones on Chandrababu Naidu in Chittoor district. Finally, he also resorted to the extreme step of filing a case of attempted to murder against Chandrababu Naidu.
Without any shame, he openly supported YCP goons act before the media and leveled false accusations against Chandrababu Naidu and TDP leaders. Since then, Rishant Reddy’s team has created havoc filing several false cases against TDP leaders.
