Official sources are raising concerns as numerous documents from YS Jaganmohan Reddy’s regime are emerging, revealing alarming irregularities. People are raising questions about whether Jagan Mohan Reddy operated the government like a private company during his last five years in office.
After securing 151 seats in the 2019 polls, Jagan Mohan Reddy expressed intentions to remain Chief Minister for the next 30 years. Some senior IAS officers seem to have placed trust in his statements and failed to provide guidance when he issued orders without following proper procedures.
Recent revelations indicate that a significant number of employees from Jagan’s family-owned media house, Sakshi, and YCP social media personnel received substantial salaries from various government departments over the past five years.
Not only were Sakshi employees beneficiaries, but some of their family members also received salaries without any assigned duties. Shockingly, the government paid substantial sums to individuals who did not work or attend the office, amounting to lakhs of rupees.
Officials have uncovered instances of corruption in entities such as AP Digital Corporation, AP Skill Development Corporation, Drone Corporation, Information and Public Relations, E-Pragathi, and RTG departments. Officials revealed that these departments employed individuals associated with the party and Jagan’s media house.
Certain individuals received salaries despite their absence from the office for extended periods. Authorities made appointments without adhering to qualification standards or selection processes, solely based on recommendations from leaders like YS Jaganmohan Reddy, YS Vijayamma, YS Avinash Reddy, Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy, and Tammineni Sitharam.
Officials are compiling detailed reports on attendance records and cross-departmental appointments. Overall, they determined that the government misused hundreds of crores of funds by offering unnecessary jobs to individuals associated with the party.
The government is expected to prepare comprehensive reports and then decide on actions to address these irregularities. Measures may include salary recovery under the Revenue Recovery Act or other appropriate means.
