Ayyannapatrudu As Speaker, Dhulipala As Chief VIP

The first cabinet meeting of the new government in Andhra Pradesh, under the chairmanship of Chief Minister and TDP national president Chandra Babu Naidu, is likely to be held this Tuesday. All ministers who were recently inducted into the cabinet, along with Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan, will attend this meeting. The first assembly session of this government is expected to take place later this week, and a call on this would be taken during the cabinet meeting.

The suspense on who will helm the prestigious ‘Speaker’ post will be decided by the cabinet. As per reliable reports, Narsipatnam MLA and seasoned leader Chintakayala Ayyannapatrudu is the forerunner for this post.

Having won as MLA seven times and as MP one time, Ayyannapatrudu is one of the ardent loyalists to the party. He served as minister several times previously when the TDP formed the government. Unfortunately, he was sidelined this time to make way for the youngsters. He won with a majority of 24000 votes in the recent assembly elections.

Earlier, there were reports that Gorantla Buchiah Chowdary or Raghu Rama Krishna Raju were in the running for the post. However, it is now confirmed that Ayyannapatrudu has been finalized as the speaker. Also, the cabinet is likely to finalize the Chief VIP of the government in this meeting.

Another senior leader, Dhulipala Narendra, who won as MLA from Ponnur constituency, will occupy the position of Chief VIP. He was tipped to be in Naidu’s cabinet this time. But, due to the infusion of fresh blood into the cabinet, Narendra missed out on the cabinet berth. Hence, Naidu wants to nominate him as VIP for the next five years.

Besides finalizing the Speaker and Chief VIP, the cabinet is likely to discuss various nominated posts, including the TTD Chairman.
