Prime Minister Narendra Modi was said to have witnessed how the administration in Andhra Pradesh collapsed during five-years of YS Jaganmohan Reddy regime as N Chandrababu Naidu failed to take oath-taking at the predetermined time.
Many observed that Naidu was unable to take oath at the scheduled time of 11.27 AM, as the Governor Abdul Nazir was unable to reach there while locking in the traffic jam. So it is learnt that even before taking formal oath he has taken charge by signing in the green room in the presence of PM Modi.
CM Chandrababu who expressed deep dissatisfaction and anger over the delay in the arrival of the Governor and the traffic complications ordered action against those responsible.
Moreover, the Governor was also unable to reach Gannavaram Airport to receive Prime Minister Modi. The Governor’s convoy was stopped on the national highway for more than an hour. Even though a sterile line was set up specially for the VVIPs’ journey, the police miserably failed to maintain it.
At Ramavarappadu ring in Vijayawada, security was arranged under the leadership of IPS officer Vijay Rao. He showed negligence in controlling vehicles and allowing important vehicles. Traffic was controlled based on radio messages only. Unnecessary vehicles were also left in the sterile line.
Chandrababu Naidu’s convoy crossed Ramavarappadu ring at 9.15 am. After that the convoys of Amit Shah, other Union Ministers and Pawan Kalyan traveled. A huge number of vehicles went along with them but they were left unchecked.
Due to this, the vehicles on the national highway stopped when they reached Gudavalli Bridge. Those who had already traveled in the other lane left their vehicles on the roads and started walking on foot along the sterile path.
After that, the Governor’s convoy and the Union Ministers who left were stuck between them. Due to the delay in the arrival of Governor Abdul Nazir, Chandrababu signed at 11.27 AM in the green room set up behind the stage in the presence of Prime Minister Modi.
Prime Minister Modi and Chandrababu waited for 15 minutes for the arrival of the Governor. The Prime Minister questioned the late arrival of the Governor, who was supposed to take oath with the Chief Minister and Ministers. By then many Union Ministers were also stuck in the traffic.
On the other hand, it seems that this delay is due to the failure of the Special Principal Secretary to the Governor, Anil Kumar Singhal. The police administration did not even conduct a trial run for the Governor’s convoy.
Traffic control in Vijayawada has been left to the wind by the police since morning. DGP Harish Kumar Gupta, stuck in traffic, had to walk two kilometers on foot. The officials who initially investigated the matter are working to identify the culprits.
