Is PM Modi Convinced To Be ‘Emissary Of God’!

Sambit Patra, the BJP candidate from Puri Lok Sabha seat, recently landed in a row in Odisha after he told a local news channel that “Lord Jagannath is a devotee (bhakt) of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.” He later described it as a “slip of the tongue.”

But surprisingly, Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself was silent on this remark and none of the BJP leaders `dare’ to admit it was by mistake. Later events give scope to believe that PM Modi himself is convinced to be ’emissary of God’.

Though Modi’s contribution in the decades long Ram Janmabhoomi stir said to be negligible and practically his government has no role in Supreme Court clearing hurdles for the Temple, BJP has been campaigning aggressively that it was due to PM Modi Hindus able to fulfil their 500-year-old ambitious Ram Temple at Ayodhya.

During `Pran Pratista’ of Lord Rama in January this year, by asking all veterans like L K Advani, Murali Manohar Joshi, union ministers, chief ministers and key leaders of RSS and other Hindu Saints, care was taken, only Modi should be seen everwhere. Even some went to the extent of social media campaign stating Modi is Lord Rama’s Avatar.

Brimming with confidence, Prime Minister told India TV, “I believe God has ordained that I should work 24×7 till 2047 to achieve the aim of a Viksit Bharat (Developed India)”, replying to questions from Rajat Sharma at ‘Salaam India’ show.. “I am fully confident I will achieve that target by 2047 and until that target is achieved, God will not call me back (Jab Tak Poora Nahin Hota, Mujhe Parmatma Waapas Nahin Bulayenge). I do not have any other place in this world now except this,” he added. Modi is presently 74 years old.

Last week, Modi has questioned his biological origins, asserting that he is “convinced” of being a godsend, introducing the idea of “immaculate conception” in the electoral arena as voting enters the final phases.

“Till my mother was alive, I had the impression that perhaps my birth was a biological one. After her demise when I view after assimilating all the experiences, I am convinced that God has sent me,” Modi is heard saying in an interview to News 18.

In the interview, Modi sought to indicate that the kind of energy he embodies couldn’t have come from a “biological sharir” (biological body) and that God has imparted him with “urja” (energy) because the Almighty wants to get some job done by him, the chosen one.I am nothing, only an instrument through which God has decided to achieve and so whenever I do something I believe that God wants to get it done,” he added.

in another interview with Hindi news channel News 24 he said “…Possibly, God only has sent me for some work, for some purpose. And, for the achievement of the purpose, he gives direction, education, ability, energy, inspiration…. Call it ‘daivya shakti’ (divine power) or “ishwariya shakti’ (godly power); all this is not possible without it”.

Congress media in-charge Jairam Ramesh termed Modi’s claim an “unprecedented level of delusion and arrogance”, adding that it was a sign of impending defeat. “The outgoing Prime Minister seems to think he is God. This is an unprecedented level of delusion and arrogance,” Ramesh said in a post on X. He said the remark by Patra, the BJP candidate from Puri, was not a slip of the tongue but “out of blind devotion to a self-deluded person”.
