In a rude shock to Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy, who is struggling hard to return back power in the ensuing general elections, his mother YS Vijayamma in a video message urged people of Kadapa Lok Sabha constituency to support her daughter and Jagan’s sister YS Sharmila, who is contesting as Congress candidate.
It may be recalled that Sharmila’s campaign cornered around YS Jagan’s repressive regime and also seeking justice in her uncle YS Vivekananda Reddy’s murder case assuming that her brother Jagan is shielding the accused by fielding him as party’s candidate from Kadapa.
He had also said that she decided to contest from Kadapa only because her brother decided to field sitting MP YS Avinash Reddy, even after the CBI named him as a key accused in the murder case. Soon after the election schedule was announced, Vijayamma had left for the USA to keep away from her two children- who were making accusations against each other.
In her video message, Vijayamma appealed to the voters to ensure the victory of Sharmila who is contesting as Kadapa Congress MP candidate. “My appeal to all those who love and admire YS Rajasekhar Reddy and all the people of Kadapa Lok Sabha Constituency. No matter how much you admired Rajasekhar Reddy, how you supported him,he was devoted to public service till his last breath”, she said.
“His baby (Sharmila) is now contesting from the Kadapa Parliament seat. Please bless her and send her to Parliament. Sharmila serves like him (YS). I am praying to all of you to give Sharmila an opportunity to serve you”, Vijayamma added.
Her video message indicates her firm appeal to defeat sitting Kadapa MP YS Avinash Reddy, who is close associate of Jaganmohan Reddy and also amounts to her discontent over Jaganmohan Reddy’s blind support to him. This video message gives scope for trolls on social media that even own mother lost trust in Jaganmohan Reddy.
