The widely acclaimed Malayalam blockbuster Premalu officially announced its sequel on Thursday. Premalu, starring Neslen and Mamitha Baiju as the lead pair, garnered acclaim and emerged as the biggest blockbuster with a collection of 135 crores.
Considering the success of Premalu, the movie makers have confirmed that they will return with a second part. The second installment of the successful rom-com Premalu is titled ‘Premalu 2’. The makers additionally confirmed that the film will be released in 2025.
The makers took to their social media platform, announced the sequel to Premalu, and wrote, “The Biggest RomCom blockbuster ever in Malayalam Cinema will be back in 2025 ! Let’s Premalu2.”
Premalu, helmed by Girish AD, features Neslen and Mamitha Baiju as the lead pair, and the film also stars Sangeeth Pratap, Shyam Mohan, Akhila Bhargavan, Meenakshi Raveendran, and Athlaf Salim in the pivotal roles. The film was made with a budget of 10 crores and garnered over 135 crores worldwide. It achieved remarkable success not just within its native Malayalam audiences but also garnered widespread acclaim in both Telugu states and Tamil Nadu.
By maintaining the core team intact, Premalu 2 will also be helmed by director Girish AD and feature actors Naslen K. Gafoor and Mamitha Baiju as the main leads. The sequel, Premalu 2, aims to recapture the fun and captivating chemistry that propelled the prequel’s success. The film will be released in 2025.
