Former Minister Samanthakamani Resigned From YSRCP

In a big jolt to YSRCP in Anantapur district, senior politician and former minister Samanthakamani and her son Ashok have resigned from the ruling party YSRCP. Very recently her daughter, Yamini Bala too resigned from the YSR Congress Party.

Samanthakamani, a popular SC leader in the district, has started her political career in the Congress Party and served as the General Secretary of the Anantapur District Congress Committee in 1980. Later, she served as a minister from 1989-1991. After that she resigned from Congress and joined TDP.

In 2014, TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu gave a chance to his daughter Yamini Babu. She won as MLA. But, by 2019, politics has changed. As TDP was unable to give another chance for Yamini Bala to contest in the elections giving seat to Bandaru Shravan, they resigned from the TDP.

Samanthakmani, who was a TDP MLC, tried till the end to get a ticket for her daughter, but to no avail.  As a result, Samanthakmani, who was an MLC in TDP, and her daughter, former MLA Yamini Bala, resigned from TDP during the local body elections in AP and joined YCP in the presence of CM YS Jaganmohan Reddy. Now they said goodbye to that party as they did not get a YCP ticket again.
