Indhu handles Govardhan’s hate? The answers to these questions unfold as the
story progresses, which needs to be experienced on the big screen.

Review:
Family Star has a very weak plot. It feels more boring as the story progresses, the
screenplay is too dragged which almost tests the patience of the audience. The film
was initially very hyped by the makers but unfortunately it doesn’t live upto the
expectations and sadly do not justify the title. The characterisations of the main
leads and supporting casts are designed good but will not be remembered. The
scenes written to establish the middle-class family life is not quite appealing and
moreover feels little annoying. The family values and emotions works in bits &
pieces. The conflict between the brothers doesn’t workout and and feels almost
fake. Narration goes flat throughout the film. Few scenes did generate laughs but
remains forgettable. The makers tried a lot to showcase Vijay as a mass action hero
with few fight scenes which feels total waste to the story. The phrase ‘Iron eh
vanchala enti’ fight scene is made good but was too long to watch. The whole itself
drags a lot that the audience feel it as a daily soap serial. The emotions in the family
are not convincing.

Vijay as Govardhan is good but the character he plays is little cranky for audience
too and felt like Vijay didn’t fit into Govardhan as his accent feels underworked but
tried his best to fit in the role. Vijay has nothing to offer as Govardhan except saying
‘kopam unte nannu kottu ra babu’. Mrunal Thakur as Indu is beautiful and was
perfect in her role. The chemistry between Vjiay and Mrunal works out very well and
feels as a fresh pair on screen.

Director Parasuram Petla miserably fails to deliver a good family entertainer this
weekend as it showed the laziness of the director to even correct out the technical
and logical mistakes appeared in the film. Director could have taken some time to
workout on the story, especially on the screenplay which might really help the film to
atleast engage the audience. Writing is weak, Screenplay is lazy and dragging.
Technically, the production values of the film is top-notch. Music by Gopi Sundar is a
total disappointment. None of the bgms are good and except ‘Nandanandana’ no
other songs are good to watch on screen, totally unforgettable. Cinematography by
K.U.Mohanan is decent and he shows Mrunal exceptionally beautiful in some frames.

Cinematography feels realistic. Editing by Marthand.K.Venkatesh could have been
little crisp because as said above the film feels like a daily soap serial.
Is it worth watching in theatres?

I would say, Family Star offers nothing great than few laughable and cute lead pair
scenes. it’s better to watch at home on OTT.
