Rebel YCP MP’ K Raghuramakrishnam Raju, who has been levying uncompromised fight against corrupt practices and anarchy regime of chief minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy for the last four years, has finally reportedly decided to join TDP and contest as its candidate from one of assembly constituency in West Godavari district.
Though he has been insisting to contest from his sitting Narsapur seat to the Lok Sabha, due to some sabotage tricks played by some BJP leaders, in collusion with YCP leadership, the seat went to BJP in seat sharing and BJP strongly avoided Raju’s candidature from there. Even TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu’s attempts to convince BJP top leadership failed in this regard.
Under these circumstances, Raju reportedly met Chandrababu Naidu in Hyderabad on Tuesday night and discussed his political future. Naidu promised him to accommodate him in the TDP. Raju is likely to join the TDP on Friday at a public meeting in Palakollu, in the presence of Chandrababu Naidu.
According to sources, Naidu is also ready to offer Eluru seat for BJP, if it leaves Narsapur for Raju. However, as top BJP leadership has reportedly assured Jagan Mohan Reddy under any circumstances they will not allow Raju to contest in Lok Sabha polls, BJP blindly rejected Naidu’s efforts. Raju, who was in Vijayawada on Wednesday, said that his political future will be revealed in three to four days.
Anyhow, he made it clear that he will be in the election battlefield and make all efforts to defeat YS Jagan’s repressive regime and bring back Chandrababu Naidu as chief minister of the state. He avoided questions about whether he will contest for Lok Sabha or Assembly and the party he is joining. He said all things will be cleared in four days.
Last week, he accused that most of the people joining TDP and BJP and contesting as their candidates in the polls have never criticized Jaganmohan Reddy. Surprisingly, he said even now all such leaders are silent about Jagan’s corrupt regime.
