EC Axe On 1 IG, 5 AP SPs, 3 Collectors

In a rude shock to chief minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy, who is confident of return back to power with the active collusion of the administration, the Election Commission of India (ECI) on Tuesday issued sensational orders transferring 1 Inspector General of Police, 5 district Superintendent of Police officers and 3 District Collectors. ECI also directed not to post them in any position involved in election duties.

It seems that all of them, who are being accused of favoring the ruling YCP in the wake of the elections in the state, have been transferred with complaints from the opposition. The Superintendent of Police of Prakasam, Palnadu, Chittoor, Anantapur and Nellore have been transferred by the Central Election Commission.

The ECI has given orders to transfer them immediately. It has sent instructions to the CEO of the state to transfer them to posts that are not related to elections. State Chief Electoral Officer Mukesh Kumar Meena has sent the instructions of the Election Commission to the Chief Secretary and DGP for immediate follow-up.

They also gave instructions to send a panel to the posts of SPs of the respective districts. Chittoor SP Joshua, Prakasam SP Parameswara Reddy, Nellore SP Thirumaleshwara Reddy, Palnadu SP Ravi Shankar Reddy and Anantapur SP Amburajan are among those who have been transferred today.

Along with them, ECI also ordered to shift Guntur Range IG Palaraju also. According to the report given by the CEO of the state and the complaint of the opposition, the transfer of the SPs is being done.

On the other hand, the EC has also transferred the Collectors of three other districts today. Krishna District – P Rajababu, Anantapur Collector M Gauthami and Tirupati Collector Lakshmi Shah have been transferred. As the CEO was instructed to transfer these three immediately, they were sent to the Chief Secretary for further orders.
