Ex MLA Janga Krishna Murthi To Join TDP

As the elections are approaching and the ruling YSRCP is losing its charm day by day, the joining of several leaders in the main opposition Telugu Desam Party is gaining momentum.  A key backward class leader of the YSRCP, who was two- time Congress MLA Janga Krishna Murthy is now set to join TDP.

He became MLA from Gurazala of Palnadu district first time in 2004 and later in 2009 during YS Rajasekhar Reddy regime. Close associate of YS, later he joined YSRCP along with YS Jaganmohan Reddy. But he was defeated in 2014 and later denied a seat in 2019. However, he was made as MLC.

After YV Subba Reddy decided to resign as TTD Board Chairman, chief minister Jaganmohan Reddy considered giving that post to a backward class leader, in which Janga Krishna Murthy’s name surfaced. Earlier, twice he was a member of the TTD Trust Board. However, at the last minute B Karunakar Reddy was made as trust board chairman, ignoring the aspirations of BC leaders.

Later, he expressed his interest to contest in the Assembly polls, but the party denied him a seat. As a result for the last few months he has been expressing his discontent over the raw deal by the party leadership towards backward class leaders.

After YS Jagan refused him to give an assembly seat he felt his political future will be belak in the ruling party as keeping away from electoral politics makes his political fortunes questionable.

After getting assurance from the TDP leadership that after coming to power he will be suitably rewarded in the government, he has decided to join the main opposition party.  He is likely to join the TDP in the presence of its chief N Chandrababu Naidu,  in a massive public meeting to be organized in Palnadu district on April 4th or 5th.

Yarapatine Srinivasa Rao is contesting from Gurjala on behalf of Telugu Desam Party. Janga won against Yarapatineni in the past and later in 2014 he defeated him. Janga assured the TDP leadership that he will work hard for the winning of Yerapatineni in the present polls. As the elections are approaching, the jumping maneuvers of the political leaders are getting interesting.
