Amazon Prime has announced the title for Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Varun Dhawan’s spy thriller, Citadel: Honey Bunny. After the success of “Citadel,” featuring Priyanka Chopra and Richard Madden, the Russo Brothers are now backing an Indian installment of their spy series, with Varun Dhawan and Samantha set to take the lead roles.
Recently, the popular Ott platform Prime Video hosted an event in Mumbai on March 19. The makers announced the title of the Indian version of Citadel as Citadel: Honey Bunny at that event.
The prime video took to Instagram and released the title poster of the spy thriller Citadel: Honey Bunny and captioned, “Citadel: Honey Bunny has a riveting narrative that fuses the pulse-pounding elements of a gritty spy action thriller with the heartwarming allure of a love story, all set against the vibrant tapestry of the 90s. Honey Bunny is the Indian series within the Citadel universe.”
This spy action thriller series is helmed by Raj and DK and produced by the D2R Films production company. Written by Sita Menon, Raj & Dk. The cast includes Varun Dhawan, Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Kay Kay Menon, Saqib Saleem, Simran, Soham Majumdar, Shivankit Parihar, Kashvi Majmundar, and Sikandar Kher. This Indian adaptation of the spin-off American TV series will soon be aired on the OTT platform Amazon Prime Video.
Samantha’s most recent appearance was in the film ‘Kushi’, where she was cast opposite Vijay Devarakonda. Now, the versatile actress is set to grace the screen alongside Varun Dhawan, marking their first collaboration together.
