In a recent interview, Samantha shared insights into her health diagnosis. The actress revealed that she felt compelled to go public with her myositis diagnosis.
When questioned about her decision to disclose her medical condition to raise awareness, Samantha explained, “Honestly, I felt pressured to do so. My film ‘Yashoda,’ in which I played the lead role, was scheduled for release, and the producers needed me to promote it for its success.”
She further admitted that she wasn’t prepared to reveal her condition at that time but had to address it due to various speculations. Samantha also mentioned the challenges she faced while managing her health with heavy medication during that period.
Given the choice, Samantha expressed that she would have preferred to share her journey publicly at a time when she felt more resilient.
On the professional front, Samantha, last seen in the romantic comedy “Kushi” alongside Vijay Deverakonda, is currently engaged in the Indian adaptation of “Citadel.”
Directed by Raj & DK and Sita. R. Menon, Samantha will co-star with Varun Dhawan for the first time in this adaptation of the American TV series spin-off. The Indian version is set to premiere soon on the OTT platform Amazon Prime Video.
