After the Election Commission announced the poll schedule, TDP chief and former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu said that the count down for YS Jaganmohan Reddy had started and only polling remained. Giving a call to people to effectively block Jagan’s regime in the next elections, he asserted in the coming elections their motive is that `People Should Win and State should rise its head’.
He is confident that the result of these elections will block the mind of the Chief Minister, Jagan Mohan Reddy, and the people are feeling total freedom from the psycho rule after the announcement of poll schedule. Addressing the general election summit organised by the TDP Legal Cell here, he said that the people are now coming onto the roads happily.
Reminding that the Election Code is now in force, he urged everyone, particularly those in the government, to be brave, impartial and play their own role to drive out the wicked regime. Naidu expressed confidence that it is certain that NDA will form the next government both at the center and also in the state after these polls. It is also certain to defeat this psycho rule and psycho.
Participating at the party’s legal cell meeting on Saturday, Chandrababu asserted that the NDA will create a history in these polls by winning more than 400 seats in the Lok Sabha. In Andhra Pradesh also, he is sure that NDA will create a record winning highest number of seats.
He said that TDP, BJP and Janasena parties are in alliance for the benefit of the state. He deplored the need of holding a legal cell meeting during the election period as now one knows how many cases are filed against political opponents by this government.
He said that he himself is not aware when and where the cases were registered against him. He recalled that in a letter he had asked AP DGP Rajendranath Reddy to provide him a list of cases registered against him, but was unable to get any response.
He expressed concern that cases were filed unfairly against lawyers also. “We have seen how many atrocities have been committed in local body elections. They scared the candidates and made them withdraw. Even those who won were declared defeated by the authorities”, he added.
TDP chief lamented that this incompetent CM Jagan Reddy has destroyed the state with evil designs and urged that lawyers also need to unite to save the state from this maniac.
Telangana BSP chief quits owing to BJP interference!
It is an open secret that BJP is influencing several opposition parties like AIMIM and BSP and using them to bring division among non- BJP voters, so that they can win in polls with slender majorities. Former IPS officer RS Praveen Kumar, who suddenly quit from BSP, being its Telangana state president on Saturday, accused that it was due to BJP’s interference into their party affairs.
Just on Friday, he announced an alliance between BRS and BSP, in which BSP will contest two Lok Sabha seats in Telangana, namely Hyderabad and Nagar Kurnool. Praveen Kumar himself is believed to be it’s candidate from Nagar Kunool. He also announced that this alliance reached after consulting the party’s national leadership and with its supremo Mayawathi’s approval.
Stating that undue pressure from the BSP leadership to call off the poll pact with BRS as the reason for his decision to quit the party, he accused that it was the BJP that had mounted pressure on the BSP leadership to call off the electoral understanding with the BRS.
Praveen Kumar said the BSP leadership was in the know of developments over his talks with the BRS chief K Chandrashekhar Rao and the electoral understanding with BRS was initially sanctioned by the BSP leadership. However, he claimed that the BJP’s intervention forced the party to retract the alliance and that he was instructed to announce the cancellation publicly.
He was disinclined to follow the instructions from the BSP leadership as he firmly believed that the poll pact once finalised ought to be followed in letter and spirit come what may. Reflecting on his service and his political journey, Kumar stated, “I served the country as an IPS officer. With profound regret, I am stepping down from the BSP.”
The abrupt exit of R.S. Praveen Kumar has sent shockwaves through Telangana’s political circles, drawing attention to the tactics of national parties in state politics and the ensuing impact on local political entities. He is now said to be joining BRS and contesting as its candidate from Nagar Kurnool.
Fully prepared for polls, says PM Modi
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday hailed the commencement of the 18th general election process saying the ruling BJP was fully prepared for the polls. Seconds after the Election Commission of India announced the poll schedules, the PM said on X, ‘The biggest festival of democracy is here! EC has announced the 2024 Lok Sabha election dates. We, the BJP-NDA, are fully prepared for elections. We are going to the people on the basis of our track record of good governance and service delivery across sectors.”
PM also floated #PhirEkBaarModiSarkar hashtag. While attacking the oppositin INDIA bloc, PM Modi recounted the scams and policy paralysis issues during the previous regime. “Ten years ago, before we assumed office, the people of India were feeling betrayed and disillusioned thanks to INDI Alliance’s pathetic governance. No sector was left untouched by scams and policy paralysis. The world had given up on India. From there, it’s been a glorious turnaround,” the Prime Minister added.
PM Modi emphasized that the welfare schemes started by his government reached all parts of India and our country is creating records in developmental goals. “The people of India are witnessing what a determined, focused, and result-oriented government can do. And, they want more of it. That is why from every corner of India, cutting across all sections of society, the people are saying in one voice- Ab Ki Baar, 400 Paar!,” PM Modi said.
In a jibe at Opposition Parties, PM Modi said that all they can do is abuse and vote-bank politics. “Our Opposition is rudderless and issueless. All they can do is abuse us and practice vote bank politics. Their dynastic approach and attempts to divide society are not being accepted. Equally hurting them is their corruption track record. People don’t want such leadership,” he said.
“In our third term, there’s much work to be done. The last decade was about filling gaps created by those who ruled for seventy years. It was also about instilling a spirit of self-confidence that yes, India can become prosperous and self-reliant. We will build on this spirit,” PM Modi added.
PM Modi said that during his third term, the fight against poverty and corruption will go on at an even faster pace and the new government will strongly emphasize social justice. He added that they are going to work towards making India the third-largest global economy and fulfill the dreams of the Indian youth.
