Jagan Cavorts Creating Havoc In AP BJP Against TDP

Coverts of chief minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy in Andhra Pradesh BJP unable to digest the party reaching into alliance with main opposition Telugu Desam Party, with the direct initiation of Home Minister Amit Shah. Though the party’s vote share is believed to be less-then NOTA votes and in 2019 it was less than 1 percent of total votes, they feared such an alliance would give `moral strength’ to TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu.

First they tried to prevent prime minister Narendra Modi from sharing dais with Chandrababu Naidu and Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan at Chilakaluripet on Sunday, to formally launch a three parties poll campaign. That’s why Modi’s tour schedule didn’t finalised till Friday evening giving scope for speculations that he is not showing interest to share dias with Chandrababu Naidu. A section of the BJP in the state, who are said to be acting like coverts of YS Jagan even spread misinformation that Modi is not at all interested to join hands with TDP and it was Amit Shah’s decision.

Having that attempt failed, now these gang  of coverts are creating hurdles in finalizing the BJP candidates selection process. As in the alliance, key leaders, who are known for their proximity with YS Jagan, failed to get seats to contest in the polls. So now they are again creating havoc stating `trusted’ leaders are being sidelined in the process.

Though BJP didn’t have a single Lok Sabha and Assembly seat in the entire state, where it can hope to get deposits on its own and purely depending upon TDP and Jana Sena support base, are now complaining that TDP giving seats where BJP cannot win.

Particularly, former state president Somu Veerraju, Rajya Sabha member GVL Narasimha Rao and state vice president Vishnuvardhan Reddy are in panic as the party top leadership is also not showing interest in facilitating them to contest in the polls. Moreover, BJP is not insisting on seats where they are planning to contest.

So, with the provocation of these two leaders a group of  leaders in the state sent a letter to the party chief JP Nadda urging that `trusted’ leaders, who served the party for a long period should be accommodated in the candidates selection. They even alleged that all the proposed seats allocated to BJP are intended to accommodate `former TDP leaders’, who are now in the party.

Though it was BJP top leadership keen to form an alliance with TDP to return power at the center, these leaders alleged that the TDP has accepted to forge an alliance with a hidden agenda.

It may be recalled that when union minister Gajendra Singh Shekwath met him at his residence, last week Chandrababu Naidu explained ground realities of each constituency that BJP is seeking to contest. After realizing the factual scenario only top leadership accepted TDP’s proposals.

BRS MLC Kavitha sent to ED custody for a week

Bharat Rashtra Samithi MLC and daughter of former chief minister K CHandrasekhar Rao, K Kavitha will remain in Enforcement Directorate (ED) custody till March 23 in connection with the now-scrapped Delhi liquor policy scam case, said Rouse Avenue Court on Saturday. Special Judge for ED cases M K Nagpal passed the order on ED’s application seeking the BRS leader’s remand.

The probing agency had sought a 10-day custody of Kavitha. However, the judge remanded her till March 23 only. Claiming her arrest was illegal, Kavitha said while being produced before the court that they will fight it out in the court.

Her advocate Vikram Chaudhari also told the judge that the BRS leader’s arrest was “illegal”.he said this was in violation of the undertaking given by ED to Supreme Court that no coercive action would be taken till the case was disposed off by the apex court.

However, the counsel for ED said, “There is enough evidence, witnesses’ statements” against Kavitha. The probing agency also accused Kavitha of destructing evidence in the case. “We have summoned several witnesses to confront Kavitha with,” it added.

The 46-year-old leader was arrested in  Hyderabad on Friday evening in the money laundering case linked to alleged irregularities in the Delhi excise policy 2021-22 and taken to Delhi late night.

On Saturday, condemning her arrest, BRS leaders and cadre held protests across Telangana. The party has accused the BJP-led NDA government of misusing central agencies, and termed Kavitha’s arrest as “illegal”.

In a post on social media platform X, the party said, “BRS held protests across Telangana against the illegal arrest of K Kavitha.” The protesters waved black flags and wore black cloth around their necks and took out rallies and squatted on the roads of Telangana, while raising slogans against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP.

The protesters also held placards that read ‘We stand with Kavithakka’, ‘Stop illegal arrests immediately’ and ‘Central government’s stubborn attitude should end’. The BRS protesters also burnt the effigy of PM Modi at a few places.
