KCR Flays `Inefficient’ Congress Regime In Telangana

After nearly 100 days of losing power in the state, BRS chief and former chief minister Kalvakuntla Chandrasekhar Rao came heavily on the present Congress government in Telangana stating that an `inefficient’ regime is running the state. Strongly refuting Congress leaders’ accusations against his nine and half years governance in the state, he asked that `we have done for nine year… can’t the Congressmen do it for a 100 days?’.

He wondered how suddenly within 100 days the electricity supply disappeared? Why were crops drying up? and why were there problems in Mission Bhagiratha? He was addressing a massive `Kadanabheri’ public meeting in Karimnagar on Tuesday evening, launching the party’s Lok Sabha campaign.

He recalled that the Telangana movement was started from Karimnagar soil and now he is once again starting the struggle from Karimnagar soil. Recollecting those days of Telangana movement, he said that have turned the soil of Karimnagar into a blob, makes hopeless with terrible droughts, power cuts, suicides and migrations, which were frequent in Telangana.

In 2001, he said that no one had faith that formation of Telangana state would be realised.  The word Telangana was banned from being spoken in the assembly. On that day, he said that he had given up all his positions in their face and went out with fistfuls of people saying ‘Jai Telangana’ to realise the dream of  a separate state of Telangana.

Stating that Karimnagar is the land where the Telangana flag has been raised to the sky. Taking this soil as a forehead, he said he had announced the activity and left for the movement.

In the recent assembly elections, KCR said that people did not vote for Congress, but they were cheated with tall promises. But what is happening in 100 days?, he asked.

They gave 420 guarantees saying that Rythu Bandhu will give Rs.15 thousand and give Kalyana Lakshmi a balance of gold. What are you talking about now? A minister says that if a farmer asks, he will tell and beat him, he added.

What are the six guarantees? Why did the electricity go out? Why did the water disappear? When public asked such questions, KCR lamented that the Chief Minister turning impatient and used filthy language against various sections of people.

Is it the language a chief minister should speak? Is this an honor for Telangana society?, he asked.

Centre notifies September 17 as annual ‘Hyderabad Liberation Day’

The Union government has decided to celebrate September 17 every year as “Hyderabad Liberation Day”, said the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA),  in a statement. It recalled that Hyderabad did not get freedom for 13 months after India’s  independence on August 15, 1947, and was under Nizam’s rule.

“The region got liberated from Nizam’s rule on September 17, 1948, after police action namely ‘Operation Polo’. Whereas, there has been a demand from the people of the region that September 17 may be celebrated as “Hyderabad Liberation Day:.

Now, in order to remember martyrs who liberated Hyderabad and to infuse the flame of patriotism in the minds of the youth, the Government of India has decided to celebrate September 17 every year as “Hyderabad Liberation Day”,” reads the notification.

The BJP has long been demanding the official celebration of September 17 as “Hyderabad Liberation Day”. Addressing BJP workers in Hyderabad on Tuesday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah had criticised Congress and the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) for not celebrating Hyderabad Liberation.

For the last two years, the Union Ministry of Culture had been organising the celebrations in Hyderabad on September 17 to mark the anniversary of erstwhile Hyderabad state’s accession to the Indian Union.

On both the occasions, Amit Shah hoisted the national flag and reviewed the parade by contingents of paramilitary forces in Hyderabad. He said it was unfortunate that even after the formation of Telangana, political parties were reluctant to celebrate “Hyderabad Liberation Day” due to vote bank politics.

During Telangana agitation BRS supremo KCR demanded to celebrate September 17 as `Hyderabad Liberation Day’ and also announced it will be officially celebrated in separate Telangana state.

But, after becoming first chief minister of the state, he avoided the same allegedly due to his proximity with AIMIM. However, his government celebrated September 17 as “National Integration Day
