IMD issues Red Alert in next three days in Telangana

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a red alert for Telangana for the next three days predicting very heavy to extremely heavy rainfall in the parts of the state until July 28th. The Hyderabad MET department issued an orange alert on Tuesday and a red alert was issued from Wednesday to Friday in several districts including Warangal, Mahabubabad, Rangareddy, Hanumakonda, Khammam, Sangareddy, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Medak, Vikarabad and Kamareddy.

With incessant rains, several parts of the state are facing water logging issues. For the second consecutive day, Hyderabad has witnessed huge traffic in the evening with the rains pouring down during office exit hours. The department has also advised the officials to stay alert as there can be drainage logging issues, and concerns of trees, and electric poles getting uprooted amid heavy downpours.

In the past 24 hours, Nizamabad witnessed the highest rainfall of 464mm and Charminar witnessed rainfall of 79mm.
